Sea Tides: sequel to Sea Changes by Ruth Hay.
(PRWEB) June 20, 2015 -- Gwen and Emily Harrison are sisters struggling to make ends meet. They live in a small cottage in Hampshire, England, left to them by their parents. The sisters’ one extravagance is a yearly cruise for which they save every penny.
On board ship they affect a much more lavish lifestyle, with fancy dresses, expensive-looking jewellery (all home-made or fake, of course) and indulge in the fantasy that they are much better off than they are. In truth, as their nosy neighbour, local shopkeeper Daphne knows all too well, they are “as poor as church mice.”
In Sea Changes by Ruth Hay, Emily catches the eye of handsome Victor Roberts who teaches dance classes on board. They become engaged when the ship reaches Gibraltar.
Sea Tides follows the sisters after the cruise as they deal with the realities of finding a new home for the couple and learning if a sudden romance can lead to a lifelong commitment.
Updating characters we meet first in Sea Changes, the sequel also follows the trials of Samuel Pajuk as he tries to survive an assignment to the entertainment crew on board. With close scrutiny coming from all sides, Samuel needs all the help he can muster and it comes in the shape of ship’s nurse, Jenny, who supports Samuel’s efforts and accompanies him on an action-packed excursion to the dramatic Greek site of Delphi.
Also returning home to their lives on land are a Lottery Club group who used some of their winnings to escape from a dire factory closing that threatens to ruin their small town near Detroit. They arrive with a hard-won business plan to save their friends and co-workers.
Will their ambitious plans succeed or is it all too late to reverse the damage?
This new two-part series by the author of the Prime Time Series has the hallmark of Hay’s writing style. Fast-paced and based in reality, with real-life locations, these novels emphasize interesting characters and positive attributes.
