Education Technology Company Interactive Achievement Names Chief Academic Officer
Roanoke, VA (PRWEB) June 23, 2015 -- Interactive Achievement announced today that Dr. Lorraine Lange has been appointed Chief Academic Officer, a move that will allow her to build on the tremendous impact she has had in increasing student growth and achievement. A former superintendent, principal, teacher, and director of Graduate Studies, with more than 46 years of experience, Dr. Lange will serve on the executive team and lead all academic and instructional strategic initiatives at Interactive Achievement. In her new position, Dr. Lange will focus the newly formed academic department of Interactive Achievement to reach the mission of thought leadership, infusing research into instruction and learning, and professional growth for educators.

Dr. Lange most recently served as the Superintendent of the Roanoke County, Virginia school district and was recently appointed by Governor McAuliffe to the Virginia Board of Education. With experience in positively impacting and overseeing 14,200 students and 2,100 teachers in Roanoke County Public Schools, she is primed to continue her legacy in instructional improvement and technology in her role at Interactive Achievement.
Dr. Lange’s proven track record in Roanoke resulted in an on-time graduation rate of 95.4%, which is among the highest in Virginia. In 2009, Dr. Lange was named a Tech Savvy Superintendent by E-News. She has been instrumental in developing and expanding the school system’s virtual high school for more than a decade and personally has worked to launch the system’s new STEM academy. In 2011, Dr. Lange was named the Virginia Superintendent of the Year by the Virginia Association of School Superintendents (VASS) and was selected as one of four finalists for National Superintendent of the Year. In 2012, she received the Virginia Excellence in Education Award from AdvancED.
