WANRack announced that its Board of Directors has appointed Gerry Garza as Chief Executive Officer and member of the Board of Directors effective immediately. Garza previously held the position of Vice President of Sales at FPL FiberNet.
“During this time of rapid growth, there is no better person to lead WANRack than Mr. Garza,” said Rob Oyler, WANRack’s founder and member of the Board of Directors. “Gerry is a proven sales leader with great management skills, business vision, and the ability to bring people together. His ability to drive growth and passion for customers will prove invaluable in the K-12 vertical and is exactly what WANRack needs as the company enters its next chapter of rapid growth.”
“WANRack is one of those rare companies making an impact in the K-12 market with its unique fiber offerings for school districts,” Garza said. “Given the FCC’s new fiber build rules, the opportunity ahead for WANRack is enormous. We are committed to bringing dedicated high speed solutions with our lit and dark fiber solutions to schools, regardless of geography. The percentage of schools that do not have dark fiber or full Gig or 10-Gig services is staggering. Our mission is to change the calculus with our unique offering.”
WANRack specializes in providing Private Fiber Optic Wide Area Networks (WANs) to K-12 school districts nationwide. Their Fiber Optic WANs provide a superior ROI than traditional cable or telephone company offerings due to their unique design model.
“Besides his sales leadership, Gerry’s experience in Network Planning at FiberNet and Finance at GE, make him the perfect person for the job,” said Darren Bonawitz, Co-Founder and Board Member.
WANRack provides high-bandwidth, fiber-based communications networks to schools throughout the United States. Service offerings include E-Rate compliant lit fiber, dark fiber, and special construction solutions.
