The Dream Builders Project Hosts Charity Flash Mob to Feed the Homeless
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) June 22, 2015 -- For the second time in 2015, The Dream Builders Project (The DBP) is hosting their one-of-a-kind Charity Flash Mob to feed the homeless community of Los Angeles. By bringing together hundreds of volunteers for a short period of time, The DBP aims to provide a small amount of relief for individuals living on the streets.
In under 60 minutes, volunteers will assemble two care packages each with a number of everyday necessities, including food and clothing items, water bottles, sanitary products, and first aid kits. Once they’ve filled their care packages, each volunteer will walk, drive or take the metro to deliver the packages to homeless individuals in Los Angeles.
“We are expecting hundreds of Dreambuilders and a number of celebrity hosts, including Kristen Renton from Sons of Anarchy, to attend the event. We predict that this Charity Flash Mob will be our biggest yet, providing basic necessities to more people than we ever have before,” says founder, Mayer Dahan.
The homeless population in Los Angeles is rapidly increasing. Numbers have risen by 16% in the last two years with approximately 28,000 individuals living in tents and makeshift shelters in public spaces and on the sides of the streets. Surviving with only the bare essentials, the homeless community has been a main focus of The DBP Charity Flash Mobs since the beginning. Past events have impacted thousands. In an effort to raise awareness about this epidemic on both a national and international scale, The DBP has created globally-recognized hashtags, #DBPLA and #CharityFlashMob.
