Hammer Strength and NBSCA Announce 7th Annual Strength and Conditioning Coach of the Year
Rosemont, Ill. (PRWEB) June 23, 2015 -- Hammer Strength, a Life Fitness performance brand of strength equipment, and the National Basketball Strength & Conditioning Association (NBSCA) have named Keke Lyles of the Golden State Warriors the 7th annual NBSCA Strength & Conditioning Coach of the Year.
Each year, members of the NBSCA vote for the coach who embodies the highest level of excellence and outstanding service to their team, the National Basketball Association (NBA), peers and the profession. As the winner, Lyles received a $2,500 stipend for the Warriors to use toward any piece of Hammer Strength or Life Fitness equipment, as well as his own Life Fitness Lifecycle Exercise Bike.
“We work closely with outstanding trainers and strength and conditioning coaches across the country to provide high-performance equipment that prepares athletes to excel at their sport,” said Chris Clawson, Life Fitness president. “We’re proud to recognize Coach Lyles, the award’s youngest recipient to date, for his tireless commitment and passion for his profession.”
As director of athletic performance and assistant coach for the Golden State Warriors, Lyles is responsible for overseeing the team’s strength and conditioning which includes working with the team’s nutritionist and implementing recovery and fatigue monitoring strategies. Lyles is also responsible for running drill work during practice.
Lyles joined the Golden State Warriors in 2013 and has been instrumental in leading the team to the 2015 NBA Finals. Prior to joining the Warriors, he worked with the Minnesota Timberwolves, Indiana Pacers and Boston Celtics. He holds his bachelor’s degree in rehabilitation science and his doctorate of physical therapy from Northeastern University in Boston. He is a certified performance enhancement specialist (PES) and certified strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS).
