New Toe Walking Course Now Available From Approved Continuing Education Provider Education Resources Inc.

To help healthcare professionals address the rising prevalence of toe walking, Education Resources Inc. is now offering a new course that provides tools for evidence-based evaluation, assessment and treatment of pediatric toe walking.

The course, Therapeutic Evaluation and Treatment of Toe Walking (Pediatric Equinus Gait) from a PT and OT Perspective, is recommended for pediatric physical therapists, pediatric occupational therapists, physical therapist assistants, and occupational therapist assistants. Participants will identify specific etiologies relevant to pediatric equinus gait; discuss etiology-specific and age-appropriate assessment and management strategies for this population; apply effective examination, evaluation, intervention and treatment strategies to toe walking in the pediatric patient; design an effective and individualized treatment plan for the pediatric patient; explain the future consequences of incorrect intervention; and can earn up to 2.38 CEUs (23.8 contact hours).

Liesa M. Persaud, PT, DPT, PCS, CKTP, the lead physical therapist at Tulsa Sunshine Center in Oklahoma, is the owner of Know to Change, a private practice in Skiatook, Oklahoma, and also teaches at Tulsa Community College. She received her Associate's Degree in 1993 from Tulsa Junior College and worked as a physical therapist assistant while completing her Bachelor of Science Degree in Organizational Leadership from Southern Nazarene University in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Dr. Persaud earned her Master's Degree in Physical Therapy from the Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions and is a Board Certified Specialist in Pediatric Physical Therapy. In 2007, she served as Treasurer for the Oklahoma Physical Therapy Association and has a been a member of the Oklahoma Foundation for Physical Therapy since 2004.

Education Resources Inc. is pleased to partner with the University of Rochester to bring this course to Rochester, New York during October 2nd, 3rd and 4th of 2015, and with Can Do Kids to bring this course to Los Angeles, California during November 13th, 14th, and 15th of 2015.
