Foot and Ankle Specialists of the Mid-Atlantic, LLC Podiatrist Awarded Governor's Volunteer Service Certificate
Frederick, MD (PRWEB) June 24, 2015 -- Foot and Ankle Specialists of the Mid-Atlantic, LLC (FASMA) podiatrist David J. Levine (Frederick Division) was recently awarded the Governor’s Volunteer Service Certificate in Maryland. The certificate is presented “in appreciation of your efforts to ensure the vitality of the community in which you volunteer, your contribution to the citizens of Maryland, and your support of Maryland’s longstanding tradition of community involvement.”
David J. Levine, D.P.M., C. Ped., has practiced in Frederick, MD, since 1989. In addition to his podiatry office, his facility includes a gait analysis lab, a shoe lab, where modifications and repairs are performed by Chris Logan, orthopedic shoe technician, and an orthotic lab run by Matt Meitzler, a certified pedorthist.
After graduating from the Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine in Philadelphia, he completed a residency, specializing in surgery, at Mission Oaks Hospital in California. He then participated in a sports medicine fellowship in Washington, D.C.
Dr. Levine is certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery, the Pedorthic Footwear Association, and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Podiatric Sports Medicine. He is a member of professional organizations, such as the American Society of Podiatric Surgeons, the American Podiatric Medical Association, and the Pedorthic Footwear Association.
Dr. Levine is active in the community, and has been a regular volunteer with the Frederick Community Action Agency, serving those without health insurance for more than 20 years. He was the first podiatrist to serve as medical adviser to the Pedorthic Footwear Association.
In March, 2010, Dr. Levine opened Walkright, a shoe store specializing in comfort, located in College Park, MD. He oversees the operation of the store, and is often available for screenings and advice for customers in need of help with their feet and shoes.
