Calgary, AB (PRWEB) June 24, 2015
Live Out There Inc is proud to announce a contest that will award two people with gear, helicopter flights, cash and week-long attendance at the Alpine Club of Canada’s famous General Mountaineering Camp (GMC) beginning Monday, August 8th in the beautiful Purcell Mountains in British Columbia.
“Live Out There’s mission is to help Canadians be more active in the outdoors, and the Alpine Club of Canada is a perfect partner to help in this effort,” said Live Out There CEO & Founder, Jamie Clarke. “I was thrilled to attend one of the camps myself--it’s world-class and I am looking forward to returning with my family,” Clarke concluded.
The Alpine Club of Canada (ACC) has been hosting the GMC since the Club was formed in 1906. People from around the world attend the camp that is specially designed to give both novice and expert outdoor enthusiasts a unique, deep wilderness experience. “Never before in our 109 year history have we given away such an amazing prize,” exclaimed Alpine Club of Canada’s Executive Director, Lawrence White. “With our partners, Mountain Hardwear and LiveOutThere.com, we are going to absolutely change the lives of our two winners after they experience this historic camp,” White added.
“We believe in what the Alpine Club of Canada does for the outdoor community accross Canada and are thrilled to join LiveOutThere.com to gear up the lucky winners,” beamed Mountain Hardwear’s Canadian National Sales Manager, Greg Sweeney. “This contest is not just for the expert mountaineer. If you’ve never even seen a mountain, but are keen to--the GMC is the perfect place for you too,” shared Sweeney.
Accessed by helicopter, the GMC is an immersion in mountain life. The week of climbing, glacier travel, spectacular scenery and camaraderie will be hosted by the ACC in the rarely-visited area above Stockdale Creek in the Purcells.
The contest winners will join other paying attendees and the staff of professional mountain guides and camp managers who are among the world’s elite. The best mountain gear and industry leading safety procedures are used each year at the GMC. Equipment partner, Mountain Hardwear not only supplies the gear for the GMC, but will also outfit the winners head-to-toe in $2000 worth of the latest equipment and apparel.
In addition, winners will be flown from any major centre in Canada to Calgary, transported by helicopter to the GMC base camp, given $500 spending money and a Hero 4 GoPro Camera.
