Now that many veterans have successfully entered the civilian workforce, they need to have continued encouragement and support from experienced leaders within those organizations in order to further their professional careers

Prositions, Inc. will be premiering complimentary veteran access to its patent-pending social collaboration software, MentorString, at the 2015 Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) Conference and Exposition. The annual conference, held June 28 through July 1 at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, is the world’s largest gathering of HR professionals attracting over 15,000 attendees.

A study on career benefits for mentors, published by the Journal of Vocational Behavior, found strong positive correlations that mentors were more satisfied with their jobs, more committed to their organizations, and had higher work performance than those who did not mentor. This study shows that the benefits of mentoring programs go beyond the mentee to positively impact the organization and mentors as well. Prositions’ ProVeteran program and its flagship cloud application, MentorString, provide a way for organizations to bring those benefits to their veteran population through virtual technology.

“Now that many veterans have successfully entered the civilian workforce, they need to have continued encouragement and support from experienced leaders within those organizations in order to further their professional careers,” said Craig Robbins, Director of Leadership Services and head of Prositions’ Veterans Program. “MentorString helps organizations enhance the mentoring process and makes it much more cost effective and convenient for both the veteran and mentor to collaborate.”

Prositions is offering its software, MentorString, free to any organization to use for its veterans and their mentors to provide coaching and mentoring at work. The platform supports most types of mentoring programs, including career mentoring, performance coaching, leadership coaching, performance improvement, and onboarding programs.

“We are extremely excited to be at SHRM again this year, premiering the ProVeteran program with MentorString” said Jill Dillenburg, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Prositions. “Participants who stop at our Booth #1031 will also have the chance to win our new mentoring course, Make Mentoring Count with Dr. Lois J. Zachary. Our booth will be filled with fun and excitement as participants spin our wheel of fortune to win some great prizes, including a stunning patriotic Les Paul electric guitar.”

Prositions has made a long-term commitment to support the veteran community. In 2011, Prositions began offering complimentary career services to veterans transitioning from the military to the civilian workplace. Prositions has been honored with an official endorsement from ESGR and nominated for the 2012 Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award; as part of SHRM 2015 Annual Conference and Exposition, Prositions is premiering its expanded ProVeteran program, now including complimentary access to its cloud-based platform, MentorString.
