The demonstration presented in France consisted of an SMPTE 2022-6 encoder SFP+ directly connected into an IP switch and an SMPTE 2022-6 decoder SFP+ plugged in a second switch.

The demonstration presented in France consisted of an SMPTE 2022-6 encoder SFP+ directly connected into an IP switch and an SMPTE 2022-6 decoder SFP+ plugged in a second switch. Showcasing an end-to-end SDI path using a 2022-6 encapsulation for transport over an IP network. Embrionix new emONE platform is now capable of integrating real time 2022-5, -6, -7 processing functionalities in a small SFP footprint (emSFP / emSFP+).

The Embrionix SMPTE 2022-6 gateway is the world’s smallest gateway available on the market; it can be integrated in standard SDI products to bridge the gap to IP or directly in IP switches enabling the use of COTS switches.

The SMPTE 2022-6 encoder and decoder demonstration follow shortly after the world's first J2K decoder in an SFP form factor announcement. Both of these emSFP solutions are developed using the emONE platform. Embrionix has focused its expertise and development to release the industry's smallest processing engine, by integrating it directly into the SFP at the edge.
