Leef iBridge First to Offer “ChargeThru” and Video Capture Capabilities on Mobile Memory Devices for iOS
Salt Lake City, Utah (PRWEB) June 24, 2015 -- Leef Technology today announced two new features for its Leef iBridge™ mobile memory device, making it the first such product to address the biggest issues for iOS device users: storage and battery life. Leef ChargeThru™ lets users pass power through the iBridge USB port to the Lightning connector in which it is plugged, while iBridge Camera can now capture video (in addition to photos) direct to Leef iBridge instead of storing them on the iPhone or iPad’s fixed internal memory.
Leef iBridge allows users to enjoy hours of movies and music on their iOS device. Thanks to the new patent-pending Leef ChargeThru feature, they now have the ability to enjoy that content and charge their phone at the same time. “With the iBridge (and any other mobile memory device) blocking the Lightning port, users had to choose between adding external memory or charging their phone,” said David Smurthwaite, partner, Leef. “With Leef iBridge, you can do both at the same time, previously unavailable with any external memory device. Simply plug in a charging cable [and power source] to the USB connector on iBridge and you’re set to charge your iPhone.”
In addition, with Video Capture, video taken direct to Leef iBridge is the same resolution and bit rate of video captured through the native camera app on the iPhone or iPad, meaning users can still capture up to 1080p HD video and never miss the moment.
“Capturing dance recitals, soccer games or even professional video shoots on iPhones or iPads is common place now, but unfortunately, so is the dreaded ‘Not Enough Storage’ pop-up we all know so well,” Smurthwaite added. “With the new Video Capture, you can be confident that pop-up won’t appear while being able to take hours of video direct to iBridge. You can also easily separate professional and personal video, capturing one on iBridge and the other in your phone’s internal memory.”
These new features are enabled with the just-released update to the Leef iBridge app on the App Store.
More on the iBridge
With its Lightning connector on one end and a standard Hi-Speed USB connector on the other, Leef iBridge—announced in January—captures and stores content from the iOS devices and lets users automatically and quickly move it off their phone and even share it cross platform with Macs or Windows PC. By storing the majority of their content externally, they can conserve their iPhone or iPad’s fixed internal memory and even stream media directly without having to worry about mobile data connection issues. Available up to an industry-first 256GB capacity, Leef iBridge is available starting at a 16GB capacity that is priced at an MSRP of $59.99USD. The product is distributed in more than 25 countries worldwide.
