From its intuitive one button interface to the flexibility of connections and outputs, the SRX3 has all the features to make it the best solution for a wide range of label formats and types

Datalogic, a global leader in Automatic Data Capture and Industrial Automation markets, and world-class producer of bar code readers, mobile computers, sensors, vision systems and laser marking equipment announces the SRX3 Ultrasonic Fork Sensor, the newest addition to the family of high performance label detection sensors.

The SRX3 has state-of-the-art ultrasonic technology able to read any type of label dispensed on any type of roll support. This ultrasonic fork sensor performs high resolution label detection on a wide range of materials including: paper, plastic, transparent, metallic, and metalized or plastic barrier tapes. Challenging applications in pharmaceutical packaging where single, double or triple transparent film must be detected are easily accomplished by the SRX3. No other sensor on the market can deliver the accuracy and speed of the SRX3 for these applications.

“The SRX3 delivers speed and accuracy where traditional optical sensors fail, making it ideal for a wide range of applications” states Cosimo Capuzzello, General Manager Sensors & Safety Business Unit at Datalogic. “From its intuitive one button interface to the flexibility of connections and outputs, the SRX3 has all the features to make it the best solution for a wide range of label formats and types.”

This forked ultrasonic sensor performs label detection based on the difference of material width inside the sensing area. The SRX3 can detect a gap of 2mm for label widths of 2mm at a speed of 60m/min. The ultrasonic technology allows for the detection of transparent labels on transparent roll supports, difficult achieve with optical operated sensors. Additionally, the SRX3 detects labels printed with metallic ink, which capacitive sensors are not able to detect.
