Donor Alliance Wins National Telly Award for Television Commercial
Denver, CO (PRWEB) June 29, 2015 -- Donor Alliance, the federally designated, nonprofit that facilitates organ and tissue donation in Colorado and most of Wyoming, announced today that it was named a Bronze winner in the 35th Annual Telly Awards for their “My Hero Said Yes!” television commercial. With nearly 12,000 entries from all 50 states and numerous countries, this award recognizes the best in video production nationally.
The award-winning “My Hero Said Yes” campaign rolled out last year across Colorado and Wyoming to raise awareness of organ, eye and tissue donation by representing the real-life stories of local transplant recipients and honoring the donors who made the gifts of donation possible. The 15-second television commercials each featured two local transplant recipients including a photo of each participating in their favorite activities and voiceover recordings to represent each recipient saying “My Hero Said Yes” and directing people to the Donate Life Colorado and Donate Life Wyoming websites for more information. These commercials were created by Donor Alliance and their production partner Tommy Collier Productions. The “My Hero Said Yes” campaign was conceptualized by The Fletcher Group and Wet Paint Communications, with photography by Vicki Christensen.
The Telly Awards was founded in 1979 and is the premier award show honoring outstanding local, regional, and cable TV commercials and programs, the finest video and film productions, and online commercials, video and films. Winners represent the best work of the most respected advertising agencies, production companies, television stations, cable operators, and corporate video departments in the world.
For its 35th season, The Telly Awards once again joined forces with YouTube to give the public the power to view and rate videos submitted as part of the People’s Telly Awards. In addition to recognition from the Silver Telly Council, the judging panel that selects the Telly Awards winners, the Internet community helps decide the People’s Telly Awards winners.
A prestigious judging panel of over 500 accomplished industry professionals, each a past winner of a Silver Telly and a member of The Silver Telly Council, judged the competition, upholding the historical standard of excellence that Telly represents. The Silver Council evaluated entries to recognize distinction in creative work – entries do not compete against each other – rather entries are judged against a high standard of merit. Less than 10% of entries are chosen as Winners of the Silver Telly, our highest honor. Approximately 25% of entries are chosen as Winners of the Bronze Telly.
“We are thrilled that our ‘My Hero Said Yes!’ campaign continues to receive national recognition for its execution, creativity and educational impact,” said Sue Dunn, president and CEO of Donor Alliance. “Sharing real-life stories of individuals impacted by donation has proven to be successful in raising awareness about the cause across both Colorado and Wyoming.”
