Five TTI-FSS Staff Members Secure Industry Accreditations
Tampa, FL (PRWEB) June 28, 2015 -- As part of Tampa Tank Inc.-Florida Structural Steel’s (TTI-FSS) continuous quality improvement program, five of the company’s staff members have secured widely recognized professional accreditations.
Erick Angulo, paint foreman, has acquired a Coating Inspection Program (CIP) Level 1 certification from NACE, the Worldwide Corrosion Authority, which allows him to conduct basic coating inspections for structural steel projects for many state departments of transportation. The certification requires successful completion of 60 hours of instruction and written and hands-on examinations.
David Eutermark, quality control manager at the TTI-FSS Ybor City facility, has earned an MT (Magnetic Particle Testing Method) Level 2 certification in accordance with the guidelines of The American Society for Nondestructive Testing, Inc. (ASNT), the world's largest technical society for nondestructive testing (NDT) professionals. By completing 20 hours of training, 280 hours of hands-on experience and passing four exams required for the certification, Mr. Eutermark is authorized to set up and calibrate testing equipment; conduct tests; and interpret, evaluate and document MT results on all work products at the TTI-FSS shops, including pressure vessels and bridges.
Joe Eutermark, quality control inspector at the TTI-FSS Ybor City plant, has earned his ASNT Level II Ultrasonic Testing (UT) certification by completing 80 hours of training and 1,050 hours of hands-on experience and passing the required exams. This gives him broader scope in overseeing UT equipment, testing, evaluation and documentation of the UT work at the production facility.
Project Manager Casey Morey was awarded a Florida Certified Contractor license by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation.
Field Superintendent Johnny Morris has qualified for the American Petroleum Institute’s (API) Above Ground Storage Tank Inspector certification based on a rigorous combination of training, education and field experience. For more than 85 years, API has developed equipment and operating standards for the petroleum and petrochemical industries.
According to Director of Advanced Technical Services Heather Gilmer, P.E., “Our product quality and the quality of our fabrication processes continue to improve as more of our personnel attain professional qualification in these areas. TTI-FSS supports every effort by its employees to gain these accreditations, as demonstrated by the numerous certifications currently held among our ranks, and which meet stringent requirements established by our clients.”
