AppZero, provider of the only automated tool for up-leveling server applications from Windows Server 2003 to a new version of the operating system, today announced the addition of Insight Enterprises, Inc. to its Gold Partner Program. Insight, which specializes in helping companies and government agencies upgrade their applications, has been an early user of AppZero for rapid and cost effective deployment of enterprise applications on physical or virtual servers in datacenters and clouds.

With Windows Server 2003 reaching end of support on July 14, many businesses and government agencies seek tools and experienced solutions experts who can automate the time consuming process of migrating to newer versions of an operating system or to public or private clouds.

AppZero's container-based approach to server application migration has proven ten times faster and more reliable than alternatives by utilizing a patented Virtual Application Appliance (VAA) container approach, which ensures applications run independent of machine infrastructure. An AppZero container is much smaller and more agile than a whole virtual machine. The major benefit is that a lot less time is spent on testing, integration and deployment.

"AppZero has been an effective migration tool for the clients we work alongside in preparing for the end of Windows Server 2003, in particular the ease of making the move to Microsoft's Azure cloud," said David Mayer, Practice Director, Microsoft Solutions for Insight. "With AppZero our teammates and clients are finding the agility needed to provision and move applications to and from any infrastructure or platform quickly, cost effectively, and with ability to meet individual business demands."

According to Greg O'Connor, AppZero CEO, "The Insight team not only has a deep understanding of the complexities of upgrading Windows Server 2003 environments and the capacity to do many migrations in a short timeframe, but broad expertise in understanding application migration from multiple perspectives such as IT staff skills, application architecture and the value of customer investments. As a Gold Partner, Insight's thoughtful attention to migration strategy and proven executions are delivering significant value for customers."
