Avid Boxing Style Rock Concert Poster Collector From Vintage Rock Posters Announces Search for 1968 Doors and Jimi Hendrix Singer Bowl Concert Posters
San Francisco, California (PRWEB) July 01, 2015 -- Avid boxing style rock concert poster collector, Andrew Hawley from Vintage Rock Posters, announces search for 1968 Doors and Jimi Hendrix Singer Bowl concert posters. The Who and the Rascals also played at this concert in New York City. The concert was held on August 2. According to Hawley, "The Doors played with the Who backing them up. The Doors gave a very stirring performance on a hot and muggy night. An impatient crown threw chairs and people rushed the stage. The police stopped the show. Hendrix rescheduled and performed a few weeks later. He was backed up by Janis Joplin and the Big Brother and the Holding Company. The Hendrix show was subdued and fairly routine. Today, the Singer Bowl is the home of the U.S. Tennis Open."
Hawley adds, "Murray Poster Company printed the concert poster to advertise the Singer Bowl concerts. The artwork was done by Dominic Sacilia. It features a crude drawing of Hendrix and Morrison and the other rock music acts. The posters were printed on thick poster board. They were hung in various locations in Queens and New York City such as Stern Department Stores and Sam Ash Music locations to advertise the summer rock festival.” For examples of Hendix boxing style concert posters, please go to http://www.vintageconcertposterbuyer.com/boxing_style/jimi_hendrix.html.
