Local Communications Team Named 2015 Nonprofit Team of the Year
Los Angeles, California (PRWEB) July 01, 2015 -- The Los Angeles Business Journal honors professionals and organizations that make a positive impact on the community and do so under difficult financial constraints. The luncheon took place at the Los Angeles Millennium Biltmore Hotel in downtown Los Angeles. Over 450 business professionals from corporations, nonprofits and their supporters were in attendance. There were 80 nominations in 10 competitive categories.
The team communicates the agency’s mission, vision and values to over two million residents in Northern Los Angeles County and the entirety of San Bernardino County. The team’s primary roles include marketing, advertising, media and public relations, philanthropy, volunteerism, community outreach, event production, graphic design, and high quality printing.
“Less than two years ago, we were a team of three but we have since grown into a team of 12 talented individuals and we look forward to continued growth. In an agency of over 750 staff, we are a small but mighty team and wear many different hats carrying with us a “can do” attitude at all times”, relates Susan Montalvo, the Director of Communications. “We could not have accomplished our combined success, and especially this amazing honor, without each individual putting forth their personal and professional best. We are extremely fortunate to work together helping children and families at CCRC.”
Some of their recent accomplishments include:
• The Communications Team executes 10 high quality events throughout the year, and across the massive service area, with an estimated combined 11,500 attendees.
• They work with donors and sponsors to obtain donations to help support the needs of children and families. Over the last few years they have received over 15,000 items including car seats, cribs, strollers, walkers, clothing, furniture and diapers. Most recently, they received an enormous product donation from The Honest Company with a total value of $84,000.
• The team launched a new, cutting edge website last September which has helped CCRC’s online presence more than double receiving close to 200,000 hits a year world-wide. The agency’s print materials are seen by over 10 million readers a year.
• They have facilitated the collection and distribution of close to 600,000 books as part of CCRC’s literacy campaign. What a Difference a BOOK Makes. It is the agency’s belief that the cognitive benefits of literacy are immeasurable and it has a large impact on the ability of an economy to generate and sustain wealth.
