MilitaryConnection.com Joins Forces with the City of Los Angeles to Combat Veteran Unemployment
Simi Valley, CA (PRWEB) June 30, 2015 -- To celebrate the one year anniversary of the “10,000 Strong” Veterans Hiring Initiative, the Los Angeles 10,000 Strong Veterans Career Summit will be held on July 14, 2015, from 8am to 5pm at Bob Hope Patriotic Hall and LA Trade Tech College.
"Finding jobs for our veterans is just the beginning of what we owe our veterans for their service." said Mayor Eric Garcetti. "These returning heroes deserve to be welcomed home with a means to support themselves, provide for their families and thrive in their communities."
The summit will aim to connect 1,000 veterans with career and business resources. This one day event will help job seekers and veteran entrepreneurs network with career and business experts, connect job seekers with on-site hiring managers, and provide valuable tools for veteran entrepreneurs to access capital, develop business proposals, and compete for government contracts.
MilitaryConnection.com has a wide reach when it comes to connecting veterans to the employers who want to hire them. “Those who have served have so much to offer when they transition to the private sector. Besides having a work ethic second to none, veterans have demonstrated the ability to work under pressure, alongside a diverse group of people in multiple environments,” said CEO Debbie Gregory.
The Summit will offer powerful workshops and networking opportunities for service members, veterans and military family members. Local companies will be participating in a hiring fair, workshops and a resource fair to expand their career and business services for veterans and their veteran hiring efforts.
Workshops will be available for Veteran Job Seekers, Employers, Veteran Entrepreneurs and Service Providers.
