Cisco & Dewey Lead the “Session Players Club” Showcase at the Grammy Museum.
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) July 08, 2015 -- Session players are the talented and versatile musicians that record and tour with everyone’s favorite artists. They’re the unsung heroes that help headliners look and sound their best night after night.
Two of the best and most experienced are Tony “Cisco” Marsico and Darran “Dewey” Falcone, who have played with a long list of legendary rock icons including Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Willie Nelson, Roger Daltrey, Marianne Faithful, John Doe, Joe Ely, Matthew Sweet, Gerry Goffin, and more.
Since session players like them play a huge role in helping the artists we love sound their best, but spend most of their time out of the spotlight, they formed a new band of their own, Cisco & Dewey, and assembled an all-star line-up for a special performance at the GRAMMY Museum in Los Angeles on Thursday, July 23rd.
To recognize the significant role session players have played in many of the most treasured recordings over the years, the GRAMMY Museum will host its first-ever Session Players Club.
The evening will commence with an intimate panel discussion and Q&A hosted by Scott Goldman, Vice President of the GRAMMY Foundation followed by a special performance by The Session Players:
Cisco & Dewey’s Bassist/Vocalist Tony "Cisco" Marsico (Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Roger Daltrey, Matthew Sweet, Marianne Faithfull, Plugz/Cruzados) and Vocalist/Guitarist/Harmonica player Darran "Dewey" Falcone (Gerry Goffin);
Grammy-winning Producer/Guitarist/Songwriter Pete Anderson (Dwight Yoakam, Buck Owens, Roy Orbison);
Pedal Steel player Bill Maresh (Dwight Yoakam, Johnny Cash);
Percussionists Gary Mallaber (Steve Miller Band, Van Morrison, Bruce Springsteen, Los Lobos, Warren Zevon, Bonnie Raitt) and Joel Alpers (Carole King, "Wicked").
The program will also feature a video of Cisco (and his former band, The Plugz) backing Bob Dylan on The David Letterman Show as well as a video of Cisco & Dewey performing the Glen Campbell classic, “Rhinestone Cowboy.”
