We are extremely grateful to all Walmart and Sam’s Club associates, customers and members for their generosity and dedication to making miracles for so many children.
SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (PRWEB) July 07, 2015
Walmart and Sam's Club associates, customers and members recently wrapped up a six-week campaign collecting donations for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals (CMN Hospitals), a nonprofit raising funds and awareness for 170 children’s hospitals.
Donations poured in May 4 to June 14, as Walmart and Sam’s Club associates held various in-store fundraising activities and asked customers and members at the register to Put Your Money Where the Miracles Are. Giving totals exceeded previous years, with over $42 million raised nationally for CMN Hospitals — most of which was collected one dollar at a time.
“We are very pleased to once again increase our contribution to CMN Hospitals as we have each year since 1987,’ said Celia Swanson, senior vice president of Global Associate Experience for Walmart and CMN Hospitals leading campaign supporter. “Over the course of our six-week campaign, we collectively raised more than $42 million that will be used to help save the lives of children across the United States. “The significance of the dollars raised through this campaign is critical to sustaining health care access and excellence through local Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, and I’d like to thank our associates, members and customers for their incredible generosity and commitment to their local communities.”
“Walmart and Sam’s Club continue to play a crucial role in helping to provide life-saving medical care for children who deserve the chance to live better,” said John Lauck, president and CEO of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. “We are extremely grateful to all Walmart and Sam’s Club associates, customers and members for their generosity and dedication to making miracles for so many children. We value this partnership and are consistently impressed by the overwhelming success this fundraising campaign achieves each year.”
Walmart and Sam's Club associates helped raise more than $800 million for sick and injured children since partnering with Children’s Miracle Network in 1987. The donations raised by Walmart and Sam's Club impact each of the 170 Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, which treat one in 10 children across North America. Hospitals utilize the funds based on what they need the most — typically for purchasing lifesaving equipment and supporting top therapy programs.
Walmart and Sam's Club 2015 fundraising efforts will continue throughout the year at participating locations through various in-store activities. For more information on Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals visit: http://www.CMNHospitals.org.
