Financial Assistance for Health Care Students
Conshohocken, PA (PRWEB) July 08, 2015 -- “You treat a disease, you win, you lose. You treat a person, I guarantee you, you’ll win, no matter what the outcome.” - Patch Adams
Today’s health care worker is a beacon of hope because, like the approach taken by Patch Adams, they are able to create success even in the bleakest of moments. On a daily basis, they are successful in saving lives, providing leadership, and guiding family and loved ones through hard times. Pacific Medical Training is helping students prepare for the rewards that come with a career in the health care professions. Many current and future students have already shared incredible stories by submitting an essay for the ACLS Scholarship for Health Care Providers.
The essay asks applicants to share how they plan to prepare physically and mentally for situations that require them to employ their training to save someone’s life. For example, one of the applicants wrote about how she gets into the proper frame of mind before stepping into emergency situations:
"As you watch your patient’s vital signs dip into the critical area you realize that you need to jump into action! Before you do anything, stop and take a deep breath. This will help you focus and prioritize as to what is important in this very moment. Without this moment you can make mistakes that could be detrimental to the patient’s health. This moment will provide you with a sense of clarity so you can go in level headed without bringing in feelings of being overwhelmed or under-prepared."
Her story demonstrates how health care workers overcome fear and anxiety in critical moments and make a difference in people's lives on a daily basis. Pacific Medical Training will offer $1,000.00 to the author of the winning essay or free training in one of their courses that are designed to prepare students for certification in ACLS, BLS, and PALS to one of the three runners up.
