Citrus Valley Health Partners Names New Chief Nursing Officer
Covina, Calif. (PRWEB) July 08, 2015 -- Citrus Valley Health Partners has officially named Karen Knueven MSN, RN, as its Chief Nursing Officer (CNO).
Knueven has been serving as the interim CNO since April 2015. She began her career with CVHP last November as the Chief Nursing Executive for Inter-Community Hospital in Covina, Calif. and will continue to serve in this role, in addition to her new responsibilities as CNO.
Knueven has decades of nursing leadership experience. Before joining CVHP, she served as the Chief Nurse Executive for several southern California hospitals including, Olympia Medical Center in Los Angeles, Kaiser Baldwin Park and Verdugo Hills Hospital.
Knueven received her MSN from California State University, Dominguez Hills.
The role of the Chief Nursing Officer is integral for the success of the many current, as well as, planned initiatives that will help CVHP continue its journey to provide safe, quality, compassionate care and to improve the patient and employee experience through the entire continuum of care.
CVHP has already benefited from Knueven’s wealth of experience and knowledge. Most notably, she has provided leadership through the Building Connections program resulting in improved patient engagement scores (HCAHPS). She has worked collaboratively with colleagues to improve staffing and role clarification which has led to improvements in nursing morale. She has also led process improvements to improve the quality of care through a nursing sepsis protocol. Most recently, Knueven’s assistance with a recent job fair resulted in the hiring of 37 experienced nurses for the system.
“As a nurse and a member of the CVHP team, I am committed to our mission to help people keep well in body, mind and spirit by providing quality health care services in a safe, compassionate environment,” said Knueven. “I believe that our nurses make a difference every day, for our patients, themselves and our organization. I am honored to collaborate with so many professionals who are equally committed to making a difference in our work environment, in how we deliver care and our patients’ experience. I want to help create an environment where our nurses feel free to be productive and are engaged and passionate about creating our future. I truly believe through this continued collaboration and hard work we can and will continue to transform nursing at CVHP.”
