HPS Welcomes C-Suite Hires from Mastercard, Oracle

Both bring extensive experience to help move health claims technology forward

Health Payment Systems, Inc. (HPS) has added Chief Marketing and Product Officer Beth Griffin and Chief Growth Officer Kevin Cox to its growing team. Both bring experience from high-profile positions at MasterCard and Oracle respectively.

“Our ability to attract leaders of this caliber says a lot about our work to move health claims technology and the patient experience forward,” said Jay Fulkerson, CEO of HPS, which streamlines claims administration to simplify the payment experience for patients and providers. “Their excitement about joining us is a sign of continued growth in the industry and here in Milwaukee.”

Griffin recently served as global business leader of healthcare and insurance for MasterCard Worldwide. She brings expertise in consumer directed healthcare, financial services and technology. Before joining Mastercard, she worked in Milwaukee with Firstar Bank, Metavante Corp, and United Health Group with Optum Financial Services.

“Beth’s knowledge of regulatory issues and her background in product innovation were driving reasons we wanted her on our team,” said Fulkerson. “She’ll lead our efforts to build and develop strategic partnerships and new client relationships.”

Griffin is looking forward to hitting the ground running. “HPS is ahead of the market in simplifying the consumer healthcare payment experience, giving consumers the freedom to focus on what’s important to them rather than on figuring out healthcare bills. The HPS team ignited my passion for innovation in this space, so I embraced the opportunity to join the team!” she said.

Cox brings a similar high-power background as a sales leader over 25 years. He is committed to transforming healthcare through innovative technology solutions like those offered at HPS. He most recently served as vice president of North America Applications Sales for Oracle, the global IT giant, where he led three national sales teams responsible for their license and SaaS business across several industries, including U.S. healthcare and life sciences.

“Kevin has demonstrated a keen focus on his customers’ needs and how innovative solutions helped them achieve results, deliver value and improve their bottom line. We envision that same leadership driving our growth nationally and appreciate his passion for change,” Fulkerson said.

Cox echoed Griffin’s outlook. “Medical billing is confusing. HPS has a proven solution to greatly simplify the consumer experience while facilitating more payments for care providers. A true win-win!
