Oakbrook Terrace, IL (PRWEB) July 21, 2015 -- North American Van Lines is proud to announce a new scholarship program for military men and women returning from service that are interested in pursuing a degree in supply chain management or logistics. Since it was founded in 1933, northAmerican® has supported growth of the logistics industry and our military. Recently, northAmerican was named the Official Moving Partner of the Gary Sinise Foundation, an organization that supports veterans that have been severely wounded in combat.
“North American Van Lines believes a quality education is key to the continued development of the growing logistics industry,” says Andy Kroll, Vice President and General Manager of northAmerican Van Lines. “This military scholarship program demonstrates our commitment to supporting our military and to building a nationwide network of skilled logistics professionals prepared to meet industry challenges today and in the future.”
The program consists of two $1,000 scholarships that will be awarded through an essay contest, in which interested and qualified students who have completed military service express why they have chosen to pursue a career in supply chain management and logistics. Award winners will be notified via email and will receive a check made out to their college or university of choice. Scholarship winners will also be posted on the official Scholarship contest page (http://www.northamerican.com/military-scholarship).
