Part of our business is dedicated to moving our servicemen and women who have given so much for our freedom
CHICAGO, IL (PRWEB) July 14, 2015
Allied Van Lines is excited to build upon its scholarship program initially announced in May 2015 with a new opportunity specifically aimed at military students, those returning from service or those that have formerly enlisted. Founded in 1928, Allied Van Lines was originally created as a cooperative non-profit organization, growing over the years into one of the world’s largest moving companies.
“Part of our business is dedicated to moving our servicemen and women who have given so much for our freedom,” said Steve McKenna, vice president of Military Moving. “We are honored to offer educational assistance to service men and women that are now dedicating the next phase of their life to our industry.”
As part of the 2015 military scholarship program, two students will be chosen as the recipient of an award scholarship totaling $1,000 each. Interested and qualified entrants have to express why a career in supply chain management and logistics is the next step in their future through a brief essay of 400 to 800 words by September 1, 2015. Individual award amounts will be made out to the university or college of choice and sent to the winner’s personal address, with the amount being made out to the university or college of choice designated by the student.
