Decision Design Announces DocketTrak USPTO Private PAIR Integration for Patents
Bannockburn, IL (PRWEB) July 10, 2015 -- Decision Design Corporation (http://www.decisiondesign.com), a leading custom software products company, today announced it has released a new version of its popular DocketTrak software that includes PAIR Connect, a new feature that seamlessly integrates with the USPTO’s Private PAIR database.
“Seamless, automated, and built-in Private PAIR integration has been an elusive feature for patent docketing systems and we are the first to bring it to the intellectual property community” said Monty Davis, President of Decision Design. “It is important that docketing systems connect with a patent practitioner’s PAIR data and our new PAIR Connect feature does just that, and no customization is needed either", added Davis. "Plus, we offer this as part of our regular subscription, no added costs or fees", he said.
DocketTrak (http://www.dockettrak.com) is an intellectual property docketing and portfolio management system that helps corporate legal departments and law firms meet critical dates for patent and trademark application filings and renewals.
Patent data stored in a docketing system must be kept up to date and patent owners must be aware of changes to their patent's status at the USPTO while their application moves through examination and issuance. Up to now, users of docketing systems had to manually download their PAIR data via an XML file and then import that file into their docketing system. The USPTO provides customers with a digital certificate file and confidential login to access their patent data, which has prevented docketing systems from providing automated and seamless integration. With PAIR Connect, DocketTrak can now seamlessly connect directly to the USPTO and import patent data into DocketTrak without having to download and import XML files and without having to log into PAIR manually. Most importantly, PAIR Connect performs the integration without the practitioner ever giving up direct control of their digital certificate file, a key requirement of the USPTO Terms and Conditions for Private PAIR use.
Mr. Davis added that this new technology allows DocketTrak to automatically update a patent record with statutory events and due dates based on any changes to the patent’s status, all without the practitioner having to manually intervene. “This has been the holy grail of patent docketing systems and we are happy to offer this new feature to our subscribers”, said Mr. Davis. “There have been some limited attempts at this technology by other companies, but none have been able to completely solve the problem, until now”.
IP attorney Ben Natter of New York, said of the new feature, “This is a game changer. Finally there is a patent docketing system that allows for direct PAIR integration, instead of the multi step process that other systems use.”
The feature also has an enterprise version that allows firms with large portfolios to operate the PAIR integration function on their network servers to provide daily automated PAIR updates for their attorneys and paralegals. This can provide a significant benefit for firms that manage thousands of patents for their clients.
