Peachtree City, GA. (PRWEB) July 13, 2015 -- Greg West, C.H. Robinson Worldwide’s vice president of LTL transportation, has been named to the SMC³ Board of Directors. With West’s appointment, the 12-person board has expanded to 13 members.
West celebrated his 11th anniversary with C.H. Robinson in January. He currently manages all aspects of the company’s LTL business including sales, operations, carrier management and training. West also oversees C.H. Robinson’s European Groupage business. He came to the company after working at Roadway Express for 17 years.
“Greg’s experience and leadership bring unique perspectives to the board and will provide direction to ensure the organization’s technology products and educational services continue to add value to the industry,” said Ken Burroughs, chairman of the SMC³ Board of Directors. “I have no doubt Greg will help us advance our mission and value to our members."
The expansion of the board comes as SMC³ CEO Jack Middleton prepares to retire. Andrew Slusher, who currently acts as the organization’s president, will take over for Middleton in February.
“Greg will further strengthen our board’s talent and background, and we are delighted to have identified such an outstanding individual,” Middleton said. “Greg is one of the most prominent voices of leadership in the industry. His knowledge and expertise will help guide SMC³ into the future.”
