Quorum client hospitals Fort Madison Community Hospital (Fort Madison, IA) and Wooster Community Hospital (Wooster, OH) were recently named among Becker’s Hospital Review’s annual list of “100 Great Community Hospitals.”
“Receiving this great community hospital recognition aligns with our mission to provide quality health services to all people, all the time,” said Bill Sheron, CEO of Wooster Community Hospital. “We continually strive to provide quality services and care to our patients-- and we hope that this distinction gives our community further validation of our deep commitment to the health of our patients.”
This year, iVantage Health Analytics named Wooster as a HealthStrong Hospital. Additionally, for the last three years, Wooster Community Hospital has received the Outstanding Patient Experience Award from Healthgrades.
Quorum client Fort Madison Community Hospital CEO James Platt added, “We are thrilled to be named among the nation’s best community hospitals. Everyone at Fort Madison Community Hospital works hard to excel through compassionate quality care, education and most importantly community service.”
In 2015, the 50-bed hospital was named a Truven 100 Top Hospital and an iVantage HealthStrong Top Hospital. Also, CareChex ranked Fort Madison among the top 20 hospitals in the state in overall hospital, medical and surgical care.
“We are honored to be associated with hospitals that continually strive to provide high-quality care,” said Mickey Bilbrey, President and CEO of Quorum Health Resources. “Community hospitals are very important to both the health of its local residents and to the area’s economic vitality. We are proud to see Quorum client hospitals receive national recognition for their efforts to provide excellent services within their communities and beyond.”
According to Becker’s Hospital Review, the Becker’s editorial team selected community hospitals based on rankings and awards from such organizations as iVantage Health Analytics, Truven Health Analytics, Healthgrades and CareChex. Becker’s defines community hospital as a hospital with fewer than 550 beds and that have minimal teaching programs.
