In response to a rising trend in the industry, The Institutes have released a new Captive Insurance Fundamentals (CAP 201) course. This introductory course is designed to give risk management and insurance professionals a basic understanding of captive insurance from a global perspective.
This self-study, online course can be completed in as little as three hours and is designed to help students:
- Learn basic captive insurance terminology and concepts, including how to form and operate a captive insurer
- Confidently explain to current and prospective clients the benefits of a captive insurer as a risk financing tool
- Identify situations in which a captive insurer can meet an insured’s specific needs, such as underwriting a unique risk or participating in a multinational insurance program
This course is offered entirely online and can be filed for continuing education (CE) credit upon successful completion of an online, end-of-course exam.
