The First Ever North American Collegiate E-Sports Convention is Taking Collegiate Gaming to a Whole New Level

In order to achieve this goal, they are hosting the first ever North American Collegiate e-Sports Convention at the Ritchie Coliseum at the University of Maryland, College Park on Saturday July 25th, 2015. This convention marks an exciting moment in collegiate gaming, as the top teams in various games will come together to battle live for glory, bragging rights, and cash prizes. The NCeSPA hopes that this convention will become an annual gathering of the best gamers and e-sports clubs across the nation, and a spectacular first convention will help achieve that goal.
The North American Collegiate e-Sports Convention will feature some of the best talent in video gaming. The event will be held from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm, offering an entire day of amazing gaming for competitors and spectators alike. The main attractions at the convention will consist of two live league grand final events. The first event is the League of Legends grand final. League of Legends is a very popular online multiplayer game in which players assume control over various champions possessing unique skills and abilities and attempt to destroy the enemy base. Since its release in 2009, League of Legends has continued to grow in popularity and is now one of the most-played computer games in existence. At the convention, the top two League of Legends teams during the league season will compete live to be crowned the best collegiate team in North America. Another grand final event will be held in which the top two Counter-Strike Global Offensive teams will battle to be the last team standing. CS:GO is the fourth installment in the online first-person shooter series Counter-Strike. Teams complete various objectives, such as eliminating the enemy team, planting explosives, or rescuing hostages. Both of these league finals are sure to be exciting. Fellow gamers can expect to see intricate strategies and teamwork that they may have never seen before. Not only will these league finals be interesting, but they can be used by spectators as learning tools as well.
Although the main attractions at the North American Collegiate e-Sports Convention are the two league finals, various other tournaments will be held as well. These tournaments are open to the public, and are not restricted to collegiate gamers. The extremely popular Super Smash Brothers series will be on display with melee singles and doubles tournaments. Eight places will be payed out, with the winner taking home 40% of the entire prize pool!In addition, a Counter-Strike: Global Offensive bring a computer draft event will be held as well. Two more BYOC tournaments will be held with large cash rewards. An eight-team BYOC League of Legends event will be hosted. The double-elimination tournament will feature a top prize of $1,000, making it a lucrative opportunity for avid League of Legends players. The most rewarding of the non-league tournaments will be a sixteen-team CS:GO BYOC event. This is another double elimination tournament. The $3,000 total prize pool for this event will reward the top CS:GO team with a massive $2,000 cash prize.
