Windpact Expands Executive Leadership Team to Capitalize Company Growth and Market Expansion
Leesburg, VA (PRWEB) July 14, 2015 -- Windpact, Inc., the company behind an innovative new safety technology for helmets and protective gear, announced today the addition of Max Moyer to its executive leadership team. Moyer joins as Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel, to strengthen the team and further position the company for future growth and market expansion.
Moyer will lead the company’s operations while helping to drive strategy and corporate development and build scalable infrastructure that supports customer acquisition and growth. Prior to joining Windpact, Moyer practiced corporate law at Cooley LLP where he served as Windpact’s outside corporate general counsel in addition to counseling private companies of all sizes and sectors, and advising dozens of emerging and high growth companies on both business and legal issues regarding daily operations, governance, venture capital and private equity financings, and M&A. Moyer has founded and run startup companies, including an online media website, an app development company and men’s grooming startup.
“Max’s experience guiding high-growth companies through legal and business challenges from startup to exit makes him a tremendous asset to our scalability and long-term success,” said thirteen-year NFL veteran and Pro Bowl cornerback Shawn Springs, Windpact’s CEO and founder. “We have big ambitions, and we’re thrilled to have Max join the team on the brink of some very exciting announcements in the coming weeks and months.”
Windpact’s patented energy dissipating system employs energy management response technology that goes beyond simple energy absorption to simultaneously transfer energy away from the point of impact and reduce peak acceleration of the head or body during impact. The “Crash CloudTM” technology drastically improves the performance of helmets and protective gear and can be applied to a broad set of use cases, including athletics (the company’s initial focus) as well as military, construction, medical, automotive, and just about anywhere people are exposed to the risk of impact.
Windpact has spent the last three years quietly developing its technology and to date has raised nearly $1m in investment capital. The company has struck some crucial early partnerships, including with Cycling Sports Group (which owns Cannondale, Schwinn, GT and Mongoose, among other brands); Battelle (the world’s largest R&D firm that is supporting the innovation team); as well as first class engineering firm, MPR; and Jose Fernandez (an elite Hollywood costume designer who has driven their inspired helmet design).
“Windpact is at a pivotal stage in its growth, and I am excited to be a part of a company that is poised to revolutionize impact protection and helmet technology,” said Moyer. “Windpact’s next generation safety technology has broad applications and we have a terrific opportunity to establish a global footprint.”
The significant market opportunity facing the company is reflected in its high-profile board of advisors, including Keith Wandell (the CEO and president of Harley Davidson), Russell Lonser, MD (the head of Neurological Surgery at The Ohio State University and Chair of the NFC’s Head, Neck and Spine Committee), and David Amirault (founder and inventor of AirProtect technology).
