Oakland’s summer festival season kicks off in July and it’s cooler than ever. Oakland offers diverse experiences for all audiences, from bicycle enthusiasts to music fans, barbeque lovers to wine aficionados, parade goers to foodies. Check out some highlights from Oakland’s summer lineup.
Saturday, July 25 from 11AM—7PM @ Jack London Square
The celebration related to all-things bicycling, returns to Oakland. Free to attend, the annual event will fill the Oakland waterfront with more that 20,000 biking enthusiasts, bicycle-themed entertainment, food and exhibits. Live performances include bicycling daredevils showing off stunts on a velodrome and ramp!
ART + SOUL
August 1–2 @ Downtown Oakland
August brings back the 15th annual Oakland’s popular art, music and food festival. Downtown Oakland is transformed into a creative, musical, and family-friendly playground. Enjoy musical acts on three stages featuring headliners Oakland’s own Sheila E. and the Family Stone. Festivalgoers will also be treated with live art performances from BANDALOOP, the pioneering vertical dance company who’s last performance scaling off the sides of Oakland City Hall generated 2 million views on YouTube!
URBAN WINE XPERIENCE
Saturday, August 1 from 1PM—4PM @ Jack London Market Building, 55 Harrison Street
Those in the know, know that Oakland has 11 urban wineries. Sample tastings from Oakland winemakers as well as other East Bay wineries. Hosted by the East Bay Vintners Alliance, the event is your chance to explore the different winemakers outside of wine country.

Celebrate the culture and diversity of Oakland’s Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer (LGBTQ) community! Kick off the morning with the free parade through Downtown Oakland and spend the day with your Pride family and friends. Enjoy great food, live music, a family and children’s garden and a wedding pavilion!
EAT REAL FESTIVAL
September 18—20 @ Jack London Square
Foodies rejoice! The food truck extravaganza returns to Jack London Square for a 3-day escapade to tantalize the taste buds. Attendance is free to the public and entree items are $8 or less. Dine on a budget while splurging on flavor and fun.
OAKLAND MUSIC FESTIVAL
September 18—26 @ Downtown Oakland
Celebrate Oakland’s cultural revival with talented artists and social entrepreneurs as you immerse yourself in a weeklong festival of events and unique live performances. Oakland’s commitment to individuality and creative expression is showcased in the musical acts that are expected to draw 8-10K people this year.
