During his career, Mr. Chait has served in a number of key leadership positions and rose up through the ranks to the highest law enforcement position in the Bureau, the Assistant Director of Field Operations, where he had command of nearly 4,000 employees with a multi-million dollar budget. Mr. Chait oversaw the development of the Bureau’s role in the National Response Plan, Emergency Support Function 13 providing federal public safety and security assistance to federal, state, local, and tribal organizations during a natural or manmade disaster or act of terrorism.
