North Carolina Department of Public Instruction Completes Roll-Out of Identity Automation’s RapidIdentity, Supporting Ten Million Users Across the State
North Carolina (PRWEB) July 22, 2015 -- Five years ago, the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI) committed to providing school systems throughout the state with a centralized IT infrastructure. The move required providing a centralized identity and access management system, granting all users access to numerous SaaS applications. NCDPI looked to Identity Automation and its RapidIdentity identity and access management solution to secure this cloud-based identity system.
NCDPI recently completed its integration of Identity Automation’s RapidIdentity in what is the largest-ever deployment of a cloud-based identity system, supporting over 2,500 K-12 public schools in the state of North Carolina.
RapidIdentity manages the identities of all users accessing NCDPI’s technology systems in a way that is scalable yet effective. With RapidIdentity, students, faculty, and staff are provided with singular identities, created at the local level but managed at the state level. Through single sign-on, users are able to easily log into applications on the platform without needing to re-enter credentials each time. For the millions of faculty, staff and students using the platform, consolidated identities mean fewer security risks and more time spent learning.
Additionally, RapidIdentity makes it easy for administrators to manage the lifecycles of the accounts on the system, meaning that fewer resources must be funneled into IT to maintain the system.
“We thoroughly enjoyed working with the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction to implement RapidIdentity across all of the state’s school districts,” said James Litton, CEO of Identity Automation. “This project was exciting for us not only because of the scale, but also because we’re helping to save so much time and stress for schools across the state.”
