We’ve been providing our students with a quality education in a small, supportive environment for 120 years, and we’re excited to continue these core values at our new facility with advanced technology, resources, and a new STEAM curriculum.

Alumni, former teachers, staff and board members are all invited to celebrate 120 years of education and tradition at Somis Union Elementary School at the All-School Reunion on Saturday, July 18, 2015 from 11:00 a.m. through 4:00 p.m. at the school campus.

Admission to the reunion is free. Food and drinks will be available for purchase, along with school shirts on sale for $10. Somis Union Elementary School memorabilia will also be on display for guests to enjoy. A silent auction will give guests the opportunity to purchase prints by late local artist Ray Ayers and other Somis related items.

“There are families who have been attending the school for three to four generations, and it’s exciting to see them reconnecting with friends,” said Dr. Colleen Robertson, Principal and Superintendent of Somis Union School District. “We’ve been providing our students with a quality education in a small, supportive environment for 120 years, and we’re excited to continue these core values at our new facility with advanced technology, resources, and a new STEAM curriculum.”

After receiving a $9 million bond from a Measure S that voters passed in November 2012, Somis Union Elementary School continues to move forward with the construction of a new, up-to-date campus, having recently entered escrow on a nearby 10-acre property in Somis. The new Somis Union Elementary School campus will meet today’s safety, technological and educational standards, providing a state-of-the-art learning environment specially designed to complement the new unique and innovative STEAM curriculum with an emphasis in agriculture.

Somis Union Elementary School is located at 5268 North Street in Somis. Those interested in attending are asked to RSVP by contacting Jean Bricker by email at jbricker[at]somisusd[dot]org or by phone at 805-386-5711.
