The Blueprint Composer generates YAML orchestration code dynamically via a drag-and-drop composer, greatly simplifying the process. The tool lets cloud operators create a full-blown blueprint in minutes instead of hours.

Cloud operators that rely on open-source tools like Cloudify for orchestration can now spend a lot less time creating YAML code, thanks to a new, TOSCA-compliant graphical blueprint editor. The Cloudify Blueprint Composer generates YAML code that users can then tweak and modify manually.

Attendees of the Open Source Convention (OSCON) this week in Portland will see a demo of application deployment with Cloudify and TOSCA, including the Blueprint Composer, which is included in the new release of Cloudify 3.2. Cloudify is an open-source cloud orchestration platform based on the OASIS TOSCA Standard. The demo takes place at the OASIS booth (#3 in the Non-Profit Pavilion) at OSCON.

The Cloudify Blueprint Composer was developed by GigaSpaces, a leading provider of TOSCA-based cloud orchestration technologies. GigaSpaces leads the community open-source development effort for Cloudify.

“Creating blueprints from scratch in YAML is a time-intensive and often tedious undertaking,” said Nati Shalom, founder and CTO of GigaSpaces. “The Blueprint Composer generates YAML orchestration code dynamically via a drag-and-drop composer, greatly simplifying the process. The tool lets cloud operators create a full-blown blueprint in minutes instead of hours."

“OASIS is pleased to have the Cloudify team in our booth demonstrating the cloud application deployment capabilities of the TOSCA-based Cloudify software,” said Laurent Liscia, CEO and executive director, at OASIS. “The open-source Cloudify project is a highly visible example of the advantages of the TOSCA standard for organizations of all sizes that run public, hybrid and private cloud infrastructures.”

OASIS is a nonprofit consortium that drives the development, convergence and adoption of open standards for the global information society. OASIS promotes industry consensus and produces worldwide standards for security, Internet of Things, cloud computing, energy, content technologies, emergency management, and other areas. The OASIS TOSCA Technical Committee works to enhance the portability and management of cloud applications and services across their lifecycle.

Technical Preview Available Online
For Cloudify users who are not attending OSCON, there is a technical preview of Cloudify and the Blueprint Composer available on the Cloudify website.
