Clements Worldwide Presents Awards for Outstanding Achievements Among Foreign Service Officers and Their Families
Washington, DC (PRWEB) July 17, 2015 -- Clements Worldwide, a leading provider of international and high-risk insurance for expatriates and companies working overseas, bestowed the American Foreign Service Foundation’s M. Juanita Guess Award to Community Liaison Officer, Alexei Trofim. Further demonstrating its support to the families of Foreign Service Officers, Clements also presented the Foreign Service Youth Foundation’s Award for Community Service to Joshua Smith-Sreen and Gregor Chisholm.
“Since 1947 Clements Worldwide has stood side-by-side with this group of professionals and their families who face unique risks to protect American ideals and help keep America safe,” said Chris Beck, President of Clements Worldwide. “We are proud to sponsor these monetary recognitions since the mid-1990’s to demonstrate our pride in their efforts.”
The M. Juanita Guess Award, named after one of the founders of Clements Worldwide, honors a Community Liaison Officer who has demonstrated unique leadership in assisting the families of Americans serving on an overseas post. Trofim, stationed in Dushanbe, worked to create cultural and philanthropic opportunities for American and local staff both inside the capital and around the country bringing friendship and goodwill.
The Community Service Award recognizes teens who have demonstrated exceptional volunteer efforts in their overseas posts. Chisholm, posted in Amman with his family, raised money to support refugees in Jordan from Syria and Palestine. “The refugees were literally down the street so I felt compelled to act,” said Chisholm. The teen was particularly inspired by a 14-year-old orphaned Palestinian girl named Manar, who had been injured during a bombing of her home. “Helping improve Manar’s quality of life is probably one of my proudest accomplishments,” shared Chisholm.
For 67 years, Clements has provided insurance solutions to U.S. Foreign Service Officers abroad, who defend U.S. interests and support cultural diplomacy. These awards represent Clements’ commitment and respect for their dedication and allegiance.
