American Century Investments has named Phil Yuhn vice president and portfolio manager. He will serve as co-portfolio manager of the firm’s Emerging Markets Debt strategy.
Yuhn joins American Century from HSBC Global Asset Management, most recently as senior vice president and portfolio manager on their Emerging Markets Debt team. Previously, he served as the head of HSBC’s portfolio engineering team. Prior to that, he was a member of Lehman Brothers’ Emerging Markets Credit strategy team.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering and a master’s degree in engineering, both from Cornell University, and an MBA from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
As part of the build out of American Century’s Emerging Markets Debt capability, Yuhn is the third investment professional to join the team over the past year. Margé Karner, vice president and senior portfolio manager, joined the firm in April 2014, and Tommy Youn, senior corporate analyst, joined in November 2014.
