My critters are the best part of my day and it makes me incredibly happy to be able to contribute to their care through the great work of San Diego Humane Society.
San Diego, CA (PRWEB) July 21, 2015
Local San Diego plumber and his wife, owners of well-established San Diego plumbing company, Bill Howe, know the importance of giving back to the community. For 35 years, they have created a culture of generosity by donating time and dollars to many local charitable organizations. From volunteer work, beach clean-ups, employee driven sponsorships to major financial contributions, the Howe’s know “how” to pay it forward.
On August 22, 2015, San Diego Humane Society (SDHS) will host the 29th Annual Fur Ball at their San Diego campus. Serving San Diego since 1880, SDHS’ mission is “to promote the humane treatment of animals, to prevent cruelty to animals and provide education to enhance the animal-human bond,” and has three major campuses across the county. They offer support services for pet adoption, animal education, animal cruelty and neglect investigations, foster care programs for animals, pet assisted therapy, pet loss support groups, behavioral assistance, wildlife protection, and so much more.
SDHS is a non-profit, private organization relying on the generosity of the community for volunteer support and financial contributions. Through donations and financial support, SDHS is able to save lives of sick, injured and neglected animals; rescue, rehabilitate and re-home more than 15,000 animals each year; provide medical treatment, perform lifesaving surgeries, conduct cruelty investigates; and, educate adults and children about responsible pet ownership.
Bill and Tina Howe are animal lovers. With a small “farm” of their own in Poway, CA, the choice to support SDHS was an easy one. The opportunity came via email from Debby Hansen, SDHS Sponsorship Officer, in the form of a simple request to tour the San Diego Campus. Tina Howe, Vice President of the San Diego plumbing company, was drawn to the work the humane society does, as well as all of the amazing animals being cared for and had an amazing time meeting the great volunteers, staff and animals.
“All of the people and animals we met were so amazing,” said Tina, “I look forward to adopting more bunnies, barn cats through their feral program and possibly another horse for my growing ‘farm.’ And, maybe another dog. My critters are the best part of my day and it makes me incredibly happy to be able to contribute to their care through the great work of San Diego Humane Society.”
