Innocent Shumba was promoted to partner from senior manager. He is a member of EY’s Assurance practice and has diverse accounting and auditing experience, including a deep knowledge in inventory, revenue recognition, business combinations, and SEC technical accounting and reporting matters. Innocent is involved in several organizations, including the EY Black Professional Network, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Certified Fraud Examiners, Institute of Internal Auditors and the National Association of Black Accountants. He is a member of the board of directors for the San Francisco National Association of Black Accountants and is multilingual in Shona, Zulu and English. Shumba has a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in Accounting from Brigham Young University and is a Certified Public Accountant licensed to practice in California.
Jon Cisler was promoted to partner from senior manager. He is a member of EY’s Tax practice, where he advises companies — from start-ups to Fortune 50 U.S. multinationals — on global tax matters. His primary focus is on international tax planning matters, including advising clients on cross-border mergers and acquisitions, repatriation strategies and supply chain planning. Cisler holds a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in Tax from the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee and is a Certified Public Accountant licensed to practice in California and Wisconsin.
Gareth Hunt was promoted to partner from senior manager. He is a member of EY’s Assurance practice and has extensive experience serving technology clients, including large multinational SEC registrants and smaller venture-backed start-ups. He graduated from the University of Southampton with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance and is a Certified Public Accountant licensed to practice in California and a UK Chartered Accountant.
Hitesh Lath was promoted to partner from senior manager. He is a member of EY’s Assurance practice and has extensive experience serving clients in the technology and life sciences industries—ranging from global Fortune 500 companies to smaller Silicon Valley start-ups. Lath is involved with The Silicon Valley Education Foundation (a nonprofit organization focused on improving math and science education in primary schools) and the EY Pan Asian Professional Network. Lath is a Certified Public Accountant licensed to practice in California, an Indian Chartered Accountant and holds an MBA from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
Anvita Sahai was promoted to partner from senior manager. She is a member of EY’s Assurance practice and has 17 years of public accounting experience. Sahai has worked with companies of all sizes and stages through complex revenue, business combination, restructuring and stock compensation transactions. In addition, she has worked extensively on SOX coordination activities and has broad experience in shared service organizations. She serves technology clients as well as public and private company clients in the life sciences industry. Sahai received her Bachelor of Commerce degree with honors from Delhi University, India. She is a Certified Public Accountant licensed to practice in California and a Certified Chartered Accountant in India.
Long Hua was promoted to principal from senior manager. He is a member of EY’s Tax practice, where his principal areas of expertise are international restructuring, tax accounting for foreign subsidiaries, international tax compliance and tax attribute analyses. In addition to his client work, Hua is a regular speaker at various tax seminars and plays an active role in mentoring other professionals. Hua holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Santa Clara University and a Juris Doctor from the University of California, Hastings. He is an attorney and a member of the California State Bar.
Donoghue Clarke was promoted to principal from senior manager. He is a member of EY’s Advisory practice, where he focuses on risk assurance in the technology industry. Before joining EY, Clarke was a revenue manager at Nielsen NetRatings and worked for the Jamaican Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where he served in London and Miami as Financial Attaché and Vice Counsel. Clarke has a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Information Systems from San Jose University and is a Certified Information Systems Security Auditor, a Certified Information Systems Security Professional and a Certified Information Privacy Professional.
Matthew Duncan was promoted to principal from executive director. He is a member of EY’s national Tax practice, where he leads the delivery of direct tax Global Compliance and Reporting (GCR) services to industry-leading clients. Duncan has worked and lived in Australia, Vietnam, Nepal, Eritrea and the United Kingdom, and has more than 26 years of professional experience. He graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Technology, Sydney and has a Postgraduate Diploma in Operations Management and an MBA from Macquarie University, Sydney. Duncan is an Internal Revenue Service Enrolled Agent.
Johannes Gasser was promoted to executive director from senior manager. He is a member of EY’s Assurance practice, where he serves a variety of technology companies spanning the software, software as a service (SAAS), social media and data storage device industries. Gasser has significant expertise on a variety of technical accounting matters regarding software and SAAS revenue recognition. He has led various private companies through the IPO process and has vast experience serving companies during their post-IPO growth cycle. Gasser graduated from the Vienna University of Economics and Business in Austria in 2000 with a master’s degree in Accounting. He is a Certified Public Accountant licensed to practice in California and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
