The Mobility Transformation Centre has participation from large automotive OEM and Tier I suppliers apart from others. The key charter is to implement a connected and automated mobility system on the streets of southeastern Michigan by 2021. As a way of providing a test bed for consumer behavior and explore market opportunities in the near future, Mcity is expected to deploy V2X solutions in more than 20,000 cars, trucks and buses across Southeastern Michigan. Savari’s V2X products are utilized in key demonstrations in collaboration with Econolite.
Savari provides both the StreetWAVE™, the only Road Side Unit to be deployed as part of the UMTRI Safety Pilot and the On-board units. Gary Duncan, CTO, Econolite, says, "We feel that the level of research and the opportunity for collaboration offered through MCity is necessary to reach our goal that the intersections of the future are collision free and safer for all roadway users. We are happy to work with Savari to achieve that goal”.
