Mason & Morse Ranch Company to Facilitate Auction 14,000+/- acres of Recreational Hunting Land Near Steamboat Springs, Colorado.
Steamboat Springs, Colorado (PRWEB) July 22, 2015 -- Williams Fork Mountain Ranch is a pristine mountain wildlife property located on the North flank of the Flattop Mountain Range in Northern Colorado and home of the White River National Forest Elk herd, the largest in the US.
It is estimated that the White River National Forest elk herd has a growing population of more than 37,000 with a bull to cow ratio of 27:100. The ranch is located in the Game Management Unit 13, which is one of Colorado’s most prolific big game units. “This is one of those rare opportunities to own a large piece of Colorado with both resident and migratory Elk along with other wildlife species native to the central Rockies. It is common to see 500+ head of elk on the property daily during hunting season,” said John Stratman, Mason & Morse Ranch Company.
The ranch was previously enrolled through 2014 in the Ranching for Wildlife program where it received 45 plus elk hunting permits for both private and public hunts. The ranch was rated with the Tier A designation under the Ranch for Wildlife program, which allowed the ranch to set the hunting seasons and tags in cooperation with the State of Colorado, Division of Parks & Wildlife program. The ranch could also be enrolled in a Conservation Easement receiving designated tax benefits.
In addition to the natural migrations of game animals the ranch would also sustain a livestock operation with summer grazing capacity for 500+ head of cattle and a farming operation of 1200 acres of crop production. Currently, there is summer grazing lease for sheep on a portion of the ranch and a farm lease on the cropland.
“The Williams Fork Mountain Ranch is a unique piece of Colorado with its sheer size of pristine wildlife habitat. The excellent big game hunting with particular emphasis on large quantity of elk tags makes this an ideal outfitting/recreational mecca. A blank canvas for a new owner to improve, enhance and guide into future habitat and conservation programs offers significant value,” said Robb Van Pelt, Mason Morse Ranch Company.
The ranch will be auctioned in it’s entirety through a sealed bid auction process. All sealed bids are due by September 1st 2015 to Mason & Morse Ranch Company. Details of auction and conditions can be found on http://www.ranchland.com
