“This is an exciting time to join Outside GC, as the firm’s growth affirms its position as the leader in on-demand, affordable, general counsel services
Boston, Massachusetts (PRWEB) July 21, 2015
Outside GC, the leading provider of on-demand, in-house general counsel services, announced today the addition of five new attorneys with the firm - Dan Berger, Brian Fielding, Jim Higham, Emily Bab Kirsch and Sarah Laybourn – bolstering the depth and diversity of the team’s offerings in all of its major markets.
Dan Berger brings over 17 years of transactional legal experience to Outside GC, having served most recently as VP of Acquisitions, Strategy and General Counsel at a large technology company where he led over a half dozen growth-driven acquisitions. Dan also has significant experience advising early stage businesses in corporate formation and venture financing matters, two areas in high demand by the firm’s expanding portfolio of growth-stage technology clients.
Brian Fielding has spent over 30 years in the media industry both as a legal and business advisor, focusing on digital media, broadcasting, technology and licensing issues. Most recently, Brian served on the senior leadership team at Audible.com for over 15 years, during its start-up and rapid growth phases and for 5 years following its acquisition by Amazon.com, where he played a key role in setting the company’s strategic and operational direction. Brian will leverage his significant experience to work with Outside GC’s new media and advertising technology clients.
Jim Higham joins Outside GC from Gamelearn, S.L., a Madrid, Spain-headquartered provider of digital solutions where he served as General Counsel, Chief of Development and Strategy. Over the course of his 20 year practice, Jim has served as general counsel three times, including 7 years as General Counsel at Vistage International, Inc., where he also held a key business role as Head of International Development, overseeing cross-border business development and new market entry including China. Jim’s significant corporate law and international business experience will allow him to skillfully advise Outside GC’s clients on a range of legal and business matters.
Emily Bab Kirsch comes to Outside GC with over 20 years of experience as a legal and business advisor to organizations of all sizes and stages of growth across a broad range of industries, having last served as Deputy and Acting General Counsel of Bridgewater Associates, an investment management company. Emily will leverage her broad corporate background and noted expertise in intellectual property matters to work with Outside GC’s New York metro area clients.
Sarah Laybourn joins Outside GC to work with the firm’s growing portfolio of life sciences clients. Sarah has spent the past 12 years advising both public and private sector companies on a wide-range of strategic and operational matters, including a biopharmaceutical company in the rare disease space and a clinical laboratory focusing on genetic testing. Sarah’s practical and experienced approach compliment the team’s strength in serving the life sciences industry and will help to expand Outside GC’s reach within the greater Boston business market.
“This is an exciting time to join Outside GC, as the firm’s growth affirms its position as the leader in on-demand, affordable, general counsel services, stated Dan Berger. I look forward to contributing and to joining this impressive roster of attorneys at a time when Outside GC’s reputation is growing in multiple markets in the U.S.”
Bill Stone, managing member of Outside GC, added, “the collective talent of our new members – Dan, Brian, Jim, Emily and Sarah – puts the firm in the best possible position to leverage our momentum, and to do so while continuing to provide our clients with the level of service they expect and deserve.”
