Former assistant city solicitor, expert interpreter and passionate volunteer newest addition to Disability Justice’s Spanish team
Philadelphia, Pa. (PRWEB) July 23, 2015 -- Disability Justice welcomes Ms. Elisa C. Advani as an associate attorney. A fluent Spanish speaker, Ms. Advani joins its Spanish team in representing disabled individuals throughout the U.S.
Prior to joining Disability Justice, Ms. Advani was a former Assistant City Solicitor for the City of Philadelphia’s Law Department. She has extensive experience as a Spanish interpreter for the legal and medical fields. Ms. Advani holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and French from Villanova University and earned her J.D. from Widener University School of Law.
Ms. Advani is proud to assist Disability Justice's Spanish-speaking clients during a very difficult time in their lives.
“Growing up in a Spanish speaking home, I feel as though I have been facilitating communication all my life,” she said. “Now I have the chance to combine my legal skills and my language skills. Hopefully, when I attend hearings with Spanish-speaking clients, they will feel at ease asking me questions about the proceedings.”
A dedicated participant in the Philadelphia Volunteers for the Indigent Program, an organization dedicated to connecting the poor with legal assistance, Ms. Advani understands the importance of service as an attorney.
“As a volunteer, you come in contact with individuals who would otherwise have no access to legal services, “ she said. “I’m so happy to join Disability Justice because it provides an important service to some of America’s most vulnerable.”
