Mercedes Benz of The Woodlands Donates July Net Profits to Soldiers' Fund, Children's Hospital
The Woodlands, TX (PRWEB) July 23, 2015 -- Mercedes-Benz of The Woodlands, Texas' newest authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer near Houston, will donate 100 percent of its July net profits to Johnny Mac Soldiers Fund and Texas Children’s Hospital.
All vehicle sales, service visits and other transactions conducted at the luxury dealership throughout the month of July will help support two organizations that touch thousands of lives.
The Johnny Mac Soldiers Fund, which is based in Virginia, supports United States veterans and their families by providing assistance such as college scholarships and grants, financial aid for professional certification programs and educational career counseling and mentorships. Since its founding a year ago, the nonprofit has given more than $1 million in grants and scholarships to veterans and children of fallen soldiers.
Texas Children's Hospital, located in Houston, Texas, is one of the top pediatric hospitals in the country. It is building a new research and treatment campus in The Woodlands to expand the services it provides in specialty care and treatment for children with certain health and medical conditions as well as pediatric diseases. The non-profit health care organization logs 3.2 million patient visits and performs 26,000 surgeries each year.
Mercedes-Benz of The Woodlands is proud to be involved with such great organizations that serve the most vulnerable and brave members of the community. It is part of the luxury vehicle dealership's mission to support the community and give to local charities and organizations. After only opening earlier this year, Mercedes-Benz of The Woodlands has already made good on its promise to give back to a long list of charities, programs and events.
"As a local and privately owned business we can support our community in ways that big companies simply cannot," said Joe Agresti, president of Mercedes-Benz of The Woodlands. “We believe we have a social responsibility to lead local business leaders in supporting the local community.”
This is the second such major contribution that Mercedes-Benz of The Woodlands has pledged since first opening its doors last spring. In April the dealership pledged nearly $200,000 to Johnny Mac Soldiers Fund, Texas Children’s Hospital, The Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival, and Interfaith of The Woodlands. Also in April, 60 Mercedes-Benz of The Woodlands employees donated $6,000 in food, toiletries and other household products to Interfaith of The Woodlands food pantry.
"Being a new dealership in The Woodlands, we were thrilled to be able to take a team building event and expand it into a generous community donation," Bob Milner, co-owner and general manager of Mercedes-Benz of The Woodlands said in a blog post. "I can't thank the Mercedes-Benz team enough for their hard work and dedication to making a difference for individuals and families in need."
