Livefyre Appoints David T. Scott as First Chief Marketing Officer

With more than two decades of marketing experience, Scott will be a key member of the executive team at Livefyre, overseeing global marketing strategy as the company expands into new markets.
Scott’s appointment comes at an exciting time in the company’s growth. Livefyre has rapidly grown from a commenting start-up to a global provider of marketing cloud technology with over 1,500 customers worldwide was recently named a leader by independent analyst firm Forrester Research in “The Forrester Wave™: Social Depth Platforms, Q2 2015.”

With more than 20 years of marketing experience, Scott has managed half a billion marketing dollars, and generated over 30 million marketing leads. He is the author of The New Rules of Lead Generation: Proven Strategies to Maximize Marketing ROI (AMACOM, 2013) – the definitive and comprehensive book on the new quantitative mathematics movement in marketing.
Most recently, Scott was the Chief Marketing Officer of Gigya, the leader in connected customer management, where he led global marketing strategy and successfully relaunched the company’s marketing strategy. Previously, Scott served as CMO of ForeSee (acquired by Answers.com), a leader in customer experience analytics, where he directed a successful team in executive thought leadership campaigns to generate high quality CMO conversations. Prior to ForeSee, David was the CEO of Marketfish, a VC backed lead generation and cloud data company. David also served as Vice President of Global Marketing and Strategy at Intermec, Inc. (Acquired by Honeywell), where he was responsible for all global marketing strategy, and directed a team of 165 employees across 40 countries. With his successful use of lead generation strategies at Intermec, the CMO Council named Scott “Chief Marketing Officer of the Year.”

Scott earned dual bachelor degrees in computer science and political philosophy from The College of William and Mary, and earned his MBA in Marketing at the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, graduating with distinction, as well as being named a Sol C Snider and Robert A. Toigo fellow.
