The new regulations have a massive impact on how SNFs will operate
Topsfield, MA (PRWEB) July 24, 2015
On July 16, 2015, a proposed rule was published by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) announcing a seismic overhaul of the long-term care regulations that skilled nursing facilities will need to meet to participate in the Medicare and Medicaid programs. Harmony Healthcare International offers a variety of courses that will help providers prepare for and understand the new regulations and their impact. Among the hundreds of revisions and updates which are designed to improve the quality of life, care and services in facilities, optimize resident safety, reflect standards of practice and incorporate requirements outlined in provisions of the Affordable Care Act, the long anticipated Quality Assurance Performance Improvement standards are also being introduced.
According to CMS, the revisions are also intended to eliminate and/or reduce duplicative or unnecessary requirements. The 403 page update to the Federal Register, includes new regulations aimed at enhancing the quality of life and the quality of care in the long term care industry.
