Champions for Kids Launches “Be a Hunger Hero” Campaign
Springdale, Ark. (PRWEB) July 24, 2015 -- Champions for Kids has joined forces with Tyson Foods to fight childhood hunger with the “Be a Hunger Hero” campaign. Starting August 1, shoppers can purchase Tyson® Fully Cooked Chicken Nuggets 5 lb. bag and State Fair® Corn Dogs 5 lb. box at Sam’s Club and help feed* a child in need.
According to the National Center for Children in Poverty, 22% of all children – more than 16 million – live in families with incomes below the poverty level. These families often struggle to provide nutritious, protein-rich meals for their children. The “Be a Hunger Hero” partnership program helps provide these families with consistent access to protein rich food. Tyson Foods is donating two truckloads of protein as part of the program.
Any Hunger Hero can share his or her battle against childhood hunger on social media with #HungerHeroes to spread awareness and connect with other heroes.
Tyson Foods has been active in the fight against hunger for more than a decade, donating more than 99 million pounds of protein since 2000. The company’s “KNOW Hunger” campaign, initiated in 2011, is focused on hunger awareness and helping more people understand and join the effort to eliminate hunger in America. The company partners with Share Our Strength, Lift Up America, Feeding America, and the League of United Latin American Citizens to raise awareness and help feed the hungry across the nation.
The “Be a Hunger Hero” campaign will launch August 1 in participating Sam’s Club stores and conclude August 31. For more information, please visit http://www.samsclub.com/hungerheroes.
