Aseptia's microwave-assisted aseptic processing of juices and vegetable purees with particulates up to 12mm allows for rapid and uniform heating yielding products with superior nutrient retention, flavor, color and aroma, which for marketers creates numerous new product opportunities. This revolutionary technology will be introduced at Aseptipak Latin America 2015, 26-27 October in Mexico City.

Aseptic processing and packaging of foods that are highly viscous or contain large particulates presents a series of challenges to the processor due to safety and quality concerns. However, for the marketer it creates numerous new product opportunities, especially when high quality can be achieved.

Raleigh, North Carolina-based Aseptia Technologies has overcome these challenges by applying two key technologies, advanced microwave-assisted processing for rapid and uniform heating, together with particulate validation technologies. These technologies, in conjunction with significant advances in aseptic filling, make feasible the efficient, industrial scale production of higher quality juices and vegetable purees, with or without particulates up to 12mm. Products using these technologies are already available in supermarkets and food service facilities across the USA.

Aseptia Technologies’ novel microwave-assisted volumetric heating technology achieves rapid, consistent heating of both liquid and particles, which results in products with higher quality attributes including superior nutrient retention, and flavor, color and aroma comparable to fresh. With the use of validation technologies, critical parameters are monitored and recorded for food safety validation.

Dr. Pablo Coronel, Process Authority for Aseptia Technologies, will present a detailed technical explanation of this new technology along with a case study of a current commercial application presented by Aseptia Technologies’ VP of Innovation, Amanda Vargochik. This presentation will be part of the session on New Processing Developments at Aseptipak Latin America 2015, The Global Forum on Aseptic/ESL Processing, Filling & Packaging. The conference will take place October 26-27 in Mexico City. During the conference the table top exhibition will showcase 25 major industry suppliers.
