(PRWEB) July 29, 2015 -- R&D Mechanical Services is proud to be a main sponsor of the Hero Run 2015 Kennesaw Grand Prix Series. The fifth annual Hero Run 5K venue will be in historic downtown Kennesaw on Saturday, August 1, 2015. The event will include a 5k run/1 mile walk with the 5k race sanctioned as an official qualifier for the world famous Peachtree Road Race. This 5k race is also part of the Kennesaw Grand Prix series. R&D has been a sponsor now for 5 years helping the organizers The Run for Wounded Heroes, Inc charity raise much needs funds to help our heroes. Last year, over 1500 runners participated, raising $20,000 for WWP.
Wounded Warrior Project’s Mission.
WWP is an organization Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP) serves veterans and service members who incurred a physical or mental injury, illness, or wound, co-incident to their military service on or after September 11, 2001 and their families. On that date, America watched in horror as approximately 3,000 people died including hundreds of firefighters and rescue workers. Why R&D Mechanical Service Choose to be a Sponsor:
“We have participated in the Run for Wounded Heroes that supports the Wounded Warrior Project for the last 5 years. This race is part of The Kennesaw Gran Prix Series. These guys are close to my heart as my son 'Heath' served 5 years in the Air Force and completed two tours in Iraq and was fortunate to come home safely. I want to do anything I can to help those who help us," adds Robbie Matiak (Owner of R&D Mechanical). These are a few of the reasons why Robbie chose to become a sponsor of this charitable event.
